One thing you could try is using the mysql command-line client in batch mode by calling it with the System exec.vi.
I don´t have access to a Mac with LabVIEW installed but i suppose it could work. Not very elegant, but to do some INSERTs and SELECTs it "could" work. Another option is to write a C-program which calls the mysql C api and call this from LV. Just a thought... Both not very elegant and far from having the functionality of real database connectivity.
