Freescale Semiconductor has turned a conventional golf club into a sophisticated piece of high tech training equipment. Using the coldfire microprocessor chip embedded inside the clubhead and sensors located on the shaft, this prototype streams data to a monitor showing the exact velocity of the swing, the angle of the clubhead at impact, and where the ball would land on a simulated golf course.

Samuel Majors, 10 year old LabVIEW user
Posted by Michael_Aivaliotis, Sep 9 2007, 01:25 AM in Videos
Samuel Majors attended NIWeek 2007. He came up on Thursday's keynote presentation and discussed his accomplishments with LabVIEW in controlling his railroad automation project. Afterwards I interviewed Samuel and his dad. Sam surprised me with one of his answers so I edited in some additional material at the end. My only regret is not having enough time to ask Sam some more questions. I didn't have any choice however since they both had to rush off to a meeting with the press.

Here Justin discusses why he chose regular expressions as a string function and also why he didn't know anything about Express VI's. Note that the developer of Express VI technology was sitting right next to him... Oops!
