This is the discussion topic for the wiki article: Multiple Instances of LabVIEW In LabVIEW 6.1 and prior you could just copy LabVIEW.exe to LabVIEW2.exe to get multiples open at the same time. This let me use one instace for watching an RT target and another for doing the Windows side of tha applicaiton. It was never officially supported but it worked. Ben

In LabVIEW 6.1 and prior you could just copy LabVIEW.exe to LabVIEW2.exe to get multiples open at the same time. This let me use one instace for watching an RT target and another for doing the Windows side of tha applicaiton. It was never officially supported but it worked. I used this trick in 7.1, too. It wasn't until 8.0 when the project window obviated the need for copying the EXE. -D
