I've moved this into the rusty nails forum since it's unsupported code. The person who released it does not appear to be working for NI.

Too bad everything is password protected.

What is Palette API:
The Palette API will be a feature in a future release of LabVIEW, but an evaluation version is available for test now.
This feature provides users with programmatic access to palettes (.mnu files). The Palette API supports getting and setting the information that is accessible through the Palette.
This evaluation API is provided by National Instruments, but it is not supported. You can leave your comments here for any questions or feedback related to this API.

Use the Palette API:
Download the PaletteAPI.zip file in "Download Code" green rectangle, and extract it.
The two VIs, Read Palette Menu.vi and Write Palette Menu.vi on the top folder are Palette API. You can use them in your LabVIEW program.
There are three examples for the typical use cases in the Example folder. They can help you understand the API.
A detail description for the two API VIs is in the User Menu.doc

The block diagram of the examples are public. But other VIs diagram are not public to customers.

Attached File(s)
Attached File  PaletteAPI.zip ( 973.76K ) Number of downloads: 308

The author of the palette API does in fact work in LabVIEW R&D at NI...I'm not sure why his user ID on the NI Community pages indicates otherwise...

-D

P.S. - I'm not the author of the palette API, although I am using it for my current project. I'm interested to see what other LabVIEW developers end up using it for.

Thanks for the clarification Darren. I'm very excited about this release.

New toys. I'm hoping to use these in toolkit and common files packages implementation.

The reason is this guy works at NI's R&D group in Shanghai, not Austin.

The links to the Palette API at NI seems to have vanished !

are the community servers down in Austin or has the files been intentionally deleted ?

The "Community" area on NI changed somewhat in I think Feb/Mar timeframe. I just went to find the new location of the API and discovered that it isn't there. It appears you've been digging and found Qizhen's post linking to the same 'community' forum. Maybe NI pulled it for a reason... unsure.gif
