Can I embed a YouTube video in a WIKI page? I pasted the following Embed code from YouTube in a wiki page. It does not work.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Nvu4cYRrBI4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Nvu4cYRrBI4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

You cannot embed it because the Wiki does not allow embedding of scripts. I can look into allowing this. One issue however with video in general is that some people cannot view it at their workplace because of firewall issues. This makes the Wiki less useful. Like I said, I will look into this and let you know. I think there may be a plugin to allow this.

Michael, this is probably unrelated to the Wiki issue, but I can't embed in the forums either. I have the option set to HTML on, but what I get is this:

" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/Nvu4cYRrBI4&rel=1">http://www.youtube.com/v/Nvu4cYRrBI4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355">

It works for me. Make sure you have HTML "on" in the Post options at the bottom. Try with auto line break mode too.

Edit:
make sure you are using the embed code that Youtube provides.

What you saw above was posted with HTML on with auto line break. I also tried the other two modes and they don't work.

The same happens with Google Video. If I remember correctly, all it requires is pasting the embed code in the post window, right?

In case anyone runs into this in the future, here's how to do it.
