Maybe this choices are given?
Or because .png is better then .gif and .jpg for images in the web thumbup1.gif

png is very good for flat picture (like diagrams for example), jpg and gif are better for photo.

Here I can save pics as .png only with pixia. In photoshop I can't find this option and in ms paint... laugh.gif ... wink.gif

nono.gif LabVIEW can save as png shifty.gif and photoshop too (save as ...)

Sometimes I use PNG because I like to have more colours in my image. GIF is very good for LabVIEW diagrams because LabVIEW uses only about 256 colours for objects. GIF only supports 256 colours. This is why it is a very good choice for LabVIEW code. The images are very small, even smaller than JPG or PNG.

Yes, PNG is good because it does not perform much compression. Actually I have a bad habit of using PNG. I must use GIF more. oops.gif Another benefit of PNG is the ability to create transparent sections. This is usefull for front panel graphics with transparency.

I disagree. Every imaging program that I have touched can save GIF, PNG or JPG. If they do not support these formats then they will go out of business. Are you using Windows XP? See image below. You can save in many formats.
